Born in Bangalore, Ravikumar Kashi completed his B.F.A. in Painting at the College of Fine Arts, Bangalore. In 1990 he completed a M.F.A. in printmaking at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda, and in 1995 he completed his M.A. in English at Mysore University. The artist has studied handmade papermaking under J. Parry at the Papermaking Resource, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, UK, with a grant from the Charles Wallace India Trust, and in 2009 he learnt Hanji (traditional Korean papermaking) from Jang Yong Hoon and Seong Woo at Jang Ji Bang, South Korea. He currently teaches as associate professor at School of Architecture, CMR University in Bangalore.
